Clive Steel is to step down as AIR-serv CEO for UK & Europe after fifteen years in the business, moving to a Non-Executive Director role from July.

Clive is passing the leadership baton to a new Chief Executive Officer as the business enters its next phase of development. During his tenure, Clive has helped build a market-leading operation with an impressive footprint.

AIR-serv boasts the largest network of managed forecourt service equipment of any provider, with over 10,000 air, jet wash and vacuum machines installed across the UK, and over 24,500 across Europe and growing.

Having also been an integral part of the transaction in 2023 which saw Caledonia Investments acquire the business, Clive feels the time is right for him to take a step back.

Clive says: “After fifteen years with AIR-serv, I am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. Our growth, resilience and success have always been powered by the people behind this organisation. It has been a privilege to serve as CEO and to work alongside such talented and committed colleagues.”

Simon Bolton has been announced as Clive Steel’s successor, having previously served as Group CEO at Envipco NV. Simon’s appointment reflects the continued strengthening of AIR-serv’s leadership team and positions the business for its next chapter of growth.

Clive adds: “I am delighted to offer my full endorsement to Simon as I hand over the baton. Having got to know Simon in recent months as we have made our succession plans, his strong track record in growth and transformation strategy assures me the future of AIR-serv and its partners in the forecourt sector are in safe hands. Simon joins the business on 18 May. He and Clive will work in close partnership through May and June to ensure a seamless transition before he assumes full responsibility on 1 July.

Prior to joining Air-Serv, Simon was Group CEO of Envipco NV, a Euronext listed recycling business based on reverse-vending machines. During his tenure Envipco expanded significantly from its US base and captured a leading position in Europe. The company experienced significant customer traction and strategic development under his leadership.

Simon’s earlier career included roles with Waterlogic, a UK company with a global reach as CEO International, and senior management positions at General Electric, Invensys and other industrial/technology companies both in the UK and Internationally.

Clive will continue to deliver his experience, insight and passion to AIR-serv in his new role as a Non-Executive Director of the board.
