In a bold step to revitalise its customer offer and improve on-site experiences, ASDA has embarked on an ambitious new venture with AIR-serv to transform the vehicle wash infrastructure across more than 25 of its ASDA Express forecourts. This project is part of a wider strategy to reintroduce premium wash services at sites where car washes have previously been out of action, and to do so with innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction front of mind. 

A Nationwide Refresh of Car Wash Facilities

The partnership will see AIR-serv, the UK’s leading provider of forecourt vending equipment, install either state-of-the-art Aquarama rollover car washes or high-performance AIR-serv UltraJet jet wash equipment at over 25 ASDA Express locations throughout the country.

These new installations represent a significant investment in forecourt infrastructure including new concrete wash bays, drainage, and new-look branding. This strategic move by ASDA increases site revenues through redeveloping and refreshing previously unused areas of the forecourt. With customer expectations constantly evolving, the updated wash offerings will provide speed, quality, and convenience to drivers seeking more than just a fuel stop.

The first installation in the programme has already been completed at ASDA Boroughbridge Road, York, and the results speak volumes. From a site with four non-operational wash bays to a fully functional valeting centre boasting a modern rollover carwash and three jet washes, the transformation has been swift and seamless with revenues surpassing expectations.

The collaboration between ASDA and AIR-serv is to achieve two core objectives: enhance the customer experience at forecourts and unlock new revenue streams.
