History of AIR-serv

    1984

    Born in 1984 in Woking, Surrey, we started with our first manufacturing and head office location. Bringing the idea of paid air from Minneapolis, USA, we introduced a model the UK hadn’t seen before.

    1986

    The 1980s were about change, slowly converting the market to paid air in an industry dominated by large Oil brands with a free air market, that has a poor consumer experience.

    1988

    Towards the end of the 80's we also broke into the independent sector and began building the nationwide presence we’re known for today.

    1990

    In 1990, we stepped up, working with industry giants Total, BP and Shell to roll out air and vacuum machines across forecourts.

    2000

    The acquisition of Gemini gave us our USP, a complete air, vacuum, and jet wash solution. We were the first in the industry to offer all three, with our head office moving to Wigan.

    2003

    By the early 2000s, growth took off. We were working with all the UK’s major fuel brands and had begun growing our European Footprint, opening up in the Netherlands.

    2009

    We acquired Jetset, another established jet wash business. This move cemented our reputation as market leaders in forecourt vending, strengthening our position across the UK and Europe.

    2010

    As we continued to grow, we became partners with all the major names in the industry, now also including Safeway, Tesco, and ASDA.

    We acquired THI, based in Cornwall, an established southern UK air and jet wash business and manufacturer, strengthening our presence and expanding our manufacturing capabilities.

    2013

    Following our acquisition by an American private equity firm, the UK business entered a new phase of leadership and investment, strengthening our focus and supporting our ambitious growth plans.

    2016

    Through our service excellence and trusted reputation, we grew with our customers as they expanded internationally, supporting operations in multiple countries, including EG Group and Intermarché.

    AIR-serv were acquired by a UK private capital company, marking a new era focused on data and consumer empowerment.
